PADI TecRec courses can open up opportunities to experience new dive sites and areas beyond the recreational realm.<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-163\" src=\"http:\/\/www.diving-krabi.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/PADI-TEC-REC-logo-300x116.jpg\" alt=\"PADI TEC REC logo\" width=\"300\" height=\"116\" srcset=\"https:\/\/diving-krabi.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/PADI-TEC-REC-logo-300x116.jpg 300w, https:\/\/diving-krabi.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/PADI-TEC-REC-logo-150x58.jpg 150w, https:\/\/diving-krabi.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/PADI-TEC-REC-logo.jpg 360w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Typically, one or more of the following has to occur for a dive to be considered technical diving:<br \/>\n\uf0a7 Diving beyond 40 metres deep.<br \/>\n\uf0a7 Required stage decompression.<br \/>\n\uf0a7 Diving in an overhead environment beyond 40 linear metres of the surface.<br \/>\n\uf0a7 Accelerated decompression and or the use of variable gas mixtures during the dive.<br \/>\nNow it\u2019s important to know that technical diving can have more risks, potential hazards and shorter critical error chains than recreational scuba diving. It requires more training, discipline and equipment than recreational diving. It\u2019s of paramount importance to ensure the proper training is undertaken before diving beyond recreational limits. So why even do it?<br \/>\nSimply put, to explore where few people can. As\u00a0a technical diver, you would get to see amazing wrecks that are hidden away and<br \/>\nuntouched, as well as marine life that don\u2019t live in your typical diving zone. Other people simply like the hard work and want to be challenged.
